An Ultra Rare Visitor

A former employee and friend of the shop stopped by while touring the east coast this week and brought along his custom made one of a kind Walker mandolin built in North Stonington, CT.!

For those of you unfamiliar with Kim Walker's work, his guitars have won praise and accolades for many years now often selling out before they hit the sales floor.
Rarely does he build mandolins so it was a great pleasure to see this fantastic instrument again, one of less than a half-dozen in the world!

Odds and Ends

It's rare that we have a blog update about a vintage drum but here we are with a 1960's sparkle blue snare from Japan, labeled a 'Stewart':

And to double the fun for half as much:
This clean, low-action, full sounding Fender 12-string acoustic just in used.

Yes, it's another Taylor!

A limited edition 414ce Rosewood.
We often think of the 400 series as the 'sweet spot' in the Taylor Guitars lineup-Made in USA, all solid woods, simple, elegant lines and appointments that don't intrude on getting the music 'done'! ;)
