Rarity and a new 'classic'

It's not often we see a Westerly Guild electric from the 1980's...or should we say at all until this beauty stopped by for some maintenance!

Just in today:

Yamaha FS830 / Seagull S6

Used, just in this week on trade.

Yamaha GC-TA

The steel string Yamaha Trans Acoustics have been a hit around here and now that we have a fresh nylon string edition things are only looking up.

From Yamaha's site:

"The CG-TA is based on the company's popular, mid-priced CG162 model. It features an Engelmann spruce top and a body of ovangkol, an attractive rosewood relative with excellent tonal properties. It incorporates the refined CG series bracing pattern, delivering superior response and resonance, and a thinner bridge plate that efficiently transfers string vibration across the guitar top. Three knobs on the guitar's side offer easy adjustment of the level of the TransAcoustic effects, and a SYSTEM70 TransAcoustic + SRT piezo pickup provides amplification, with a line-out volume level, an on/off control, and a redesigned battery box integrated with the guitar's endpin."

Coming Around Again

It's as nostalgic as the song at the WMC these days with these two instruments landing here for a second try:

At top we have a 2008 Taylor 512ce in beautiful condition with original case.

Below a Mid Missouri Mandolins M-2 mandolin (now called Big Muddy) in all solid maple back and sides, solid spruce top also in excellent condition.

Just like the first time we sold them, we've given each instrument a full setup and new strings.

Boomerang Taylor 12-String

We've just been visited by an old 'friend', a Taylor 12-string acoustic electric 12-fret model 562ce on consignment this week (the original owner purchased it new from us in 2016). In pristine condition with original case. If you've never played one of Taylor's 12/12's now's the time since there are currently two in the shop, the other a new 352ce. They feel more like a parlor guitar with extra strings than a chimey, full bodied 12-string.

Guild M-20

It's finally here, the Guild M-20! 

A classic returns from Guild's 'back catalog' but this time revived with modern playability, reliability and vintage charm. Everything you remember about playing a vintage M-20 is present here with greater tonal 'shape' and presence.
